Set the Path entry located at

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\il2fb.exe

to the folder containing the il2fb.exe file located in the il2sl folder.

Where is the server name specified?

Is the issue with the setting in the servers confs.ini file or when you add a custom entry to the IL2SL?

I added it to the confs.ini file and the HL server description.

Looks like it is a bug in IL2SL.

The forward slash character is often used to express special characters.  For example /t for a tab character.  This may be causing confusion with IL2SL.  I will have to look into it.

For now I suggest not using the / characters.

It has been too long since I worked on the code.

The text sent to IL2SL from the game when it requests the games status (which will contain among other things the server name) uses the \ character as a field separator.  When IL2SL sees the \ characters in the server name it thinks it is the start of the next field.  This causes it to lose sync with the field name / data pairs.

Thus you can not use the backslash character in your server name.

It seems there is a problem with 4.10.

If I autoenable 4.10 for a certain certain server(like: profile=(UP 201; JSGME: 00_Stock_4.10m) , il2sl does not switch back to default (for instance basic Up2.01, no mods at all)after disconnection.
4.10 stays activated for the current HL session. If I restart  HL, it works just like it should and disables  4.10.

I am at a loss ast o why this might be happening.  00_Stock_4.10m should work just like 00_Stock_4.109m

Does il2sl work properly for other servers/addons?

Can't reproduce it anymore, so my guess is it was a server sided bug.
Thanks anyway.

I moved the on-line location for the update files for the server.ini file.  This required a new build of il2sl to go to this new location.

The first post in this thread has been updated to include the installer download.

Pappy,

In the setup menu SL asks for a username, what purpose it that for?
First I thought it must be the same as the HL alias - but I can use Mickey Mouse without any noticeable change. ; )

It is the call sign / handle that will be passed on the command line when it launches the game.  This handle is used if you run IL2SL stand alone and not from HyperLobby (HL).

When run from HL, IL2SL will used the handle passed to it from HL.
