To test if both maps are working try opening them in the full mission builder first. Don't be surpised if it takes more than a full minute to load, this is a very big map (1:1 scale). If you get a loading error, I have found that some of the larger maps will not load unless you are using ST3C texture compression in your game's graphics settings. They require so much memory that you may need to try this.

Thanks Murph.  Let me tell you what I did (probably "did not do" is more like it).  I did as you recommended.  I tried opening both maps in FMB.  The summer opened just fine, not even too long.  And I made sure that ST3C was selected.  The winter map, well, I tried four times.  First three, down at the bottom of the screen, it said something about a loading error.  Fourth time, it actually crashed to my desktop.  Fifth time, it loaded.  Since I don't know how to do the FMB stuff, I exited.  I then went to QMB, and the Wf_winter showed in the "Maps" window as Boomer said.  I flew a mission.  Today when I went back into the game to try that mission, I had to go through the same as above.  Got kicked to desktop, still couldn't load the winter map (in FMB), but when it finally did load, I could fly the QMB mission again. And I mentioned that I was trying to fly single missions from a pack called boddenplatte.  Instructions for it say you must have this map.  Well, I've proven that I do I think, but ......when I try to fly those, I get "Error  Mission loading failed: landscape Westfront44/WF44W_load.ini loading error".  Have you got any other recommendations for me to try.  If being old does anything for you, it makes you obstinate, and I am certainly that.  I just can't admit defeat. :)

Hi Bob!

Yes, that is my "Bodenplatte 1945" mission pack you are talking about:

http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=859

If you have the map running the missions will run too.

BTW: I think its imperative to include this map by GilB57, as it is one of the best, most versatile and most important ones to adorn IL-2 since Cannons Channel Map!!!

The patch has a problem of missing bridges in summer map ...and needs to be ....fixed  :-[

Please cancel the update or reinstall previous one (v 1.0 final).

I'll release it again, as soon as I can.   :sign0013:

I dl and applied your patch. It works great. However there is one thing I like to point out about your map.
Before the patch, there was a Marshaling Yard at Waalhaven on the west side of the Docks. I started to
build a mission dealing with the Marshaling Yard there. Now when I went to work on the Mission, the
Marshaling Yard is not there any more. Was that plan or was the Marshaling Yard over written by other objects.
I hope you will put the Marshaling Yard back in at Waalhaven. If you want, I can send the mission I was building
to show you where the Marshaling Yard was. I hope you will put it back as it will be great for mission building.
Also, FYI just west of Rotterdam, the ship yards of Schiedam. They are close to each other. You have it there,
just the part of ship yard docks you have west of Rotterdam is really named Schiedam.
Any way Thank You for your hard work and time.

Yes, due to the fact that some buildings were already on the roads and & rails, I decided to apply "clear roads" function in unlocked FMB and I suppose it deleted the marshaling yard. After that I put back some objects but impossible to look everywhere...

Anyway, all objects you need are available in FMB. You just can build the marshaling yard in your mission file, no ?
I don't think I'll update it soon (except big bug).

As to the Marshaling Yard at Waalhaven, it is completely gone. In order to rebuild it, it would take Open Full Mission Builder to redo it. I do not have that program and also I am not a map builder, so I wouldn't know How or what to
do. I guess I have to take that mission out and just do Schiedam and Rotterdam. To bad, Waalhaven Marshaling
Yard would have been a good mission. Or I could reinstall UP3RC2 without the patch in your WF 1944 Map, then again that could cause a problem because everyone would have the updated map.

you shouldn't need unlocked to build a harbor
when it comes to actual objects, there avialble in both FMB's

Think of Unlocked FMB(Map Editor)
As just the same normal FMB,with some tools unlocked for use

The FMB+ mod enables the use of all airfield plates,
and adds selction and dragging capabilities

So in essence,I am pretty sure there would be no objects in or on a Marshaling yard that would not be available to a mission builder

As for loosing things on water, the water clear function must have been used,it should only be used once and just after auto-pop as it will remove everything from on any water so if anything was built on water it would be removed.

The clear roads function,it can be used over and over
as it only removes buildings from roads and rails and will not effect anything laying on water

A solution, could be to open the other older version actors
copy and paste the harbors over to the new version, but it could be a lot of work arranging it all pixel perfect with the map
especially if there are a lot of harbors

Well, Lakota can find any object he needs in FMB (go to "objects" menu and search there, they have been well ordered by UP team) to re-build this marshaling yard (some kind of railways station for furnitures if I understand well ) ...

A lot of things can be added in a map by a good missions builder (on airfields for example). The WestFront44 maps are a lot too big to be detailed (in fact, they are more detailed than I primarly intended)

To Lakota : I'm just sorry that this marshaling yard has vanished in the clear road process, but I'm pretty sure that you can build it again a lot more detailed & interesting than it was before  :ok:

Yes,I totally agree
maps do not need to be over detailed, there only suppose to be scenery anyway

A train station, yes that would get cleared with the clear roads tool
 for sure,
but like you mentioned all those objects are in the FMB Object list

Minor, wouldn't take long to build up in a mission file :)

IMPORTANT !

Unfortunately, due to some mistake, the WESTFRONT44 MAP release included inside CURRENT UP3 RC4 is buggy : lot of bridges missing and unusable Manston airfield (summer map) !!!

I HIGHLY RECOMMAND to download the LATEST RELEASE and install it as any other addon map. (see first post).

To 606_Tempik :
Not enough details in your bug report !
-Offline or online ?
-Kind of mission : single, QMB, coop. or dogfight ?
-Always the same place on the map?
-All airplanes or only one ?

... Not sure, but I doubt the map itself is concerned ?

Offline (in QMB) and Online DF
Always the same place (for example BK 26 east bank near bridge, close to forest)
All aircraft (and rockets, bombs and MG)
