I just tried Carsmaster FOV changer yesterday.
I was able to enable it in the jsmge selector, but it has no effect in game (il2 up3rc4). Win7.
How do you control the FOV in-game using carsmaster???

Use this: http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,16878.0.html

It's much better than San's or Carmaster.  :)

stratodog,
I will try that mod soon and let you know thanks. Are you sure I can use that FOV mod in conjunction with trackir?

Aviar,
I could'nt get carsmaster to work?!
I installed the folder direclty in the #up# folder, but the Jsmge activator did'nt even see it, so I could'nt activate it.
Then I tried to install the folder directly in a folder called "jsmge mods", and then I was able to activate it in the jsgme activator.
But still, I saw no effect in the game. I pressed on wideview, normal view, and still nothing. Remember I have trackir running. I think it's conflicting with those functions. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?
Also why do you prefer carsmaster over

Yes, I'm sure it's compatible with trackir.  I only fly with trakir and would never use a mod that would compromise the use of trakir.

Mods should go in your #UP# folder and then they will be automatically activated. Just make sure you uncheck the 'Enable mod files cache' setting in your launcher the first time you run the mod.

Aviar,

I don't normally enable " mod files cache".
What is it for?
Do you suggest having it enabled normally?

Why exactly do you prefer carsmaster over  this "FOVmod"??

Stratodog,

I Tried this FOV mod and works great compared to the buggy/annoying Sans FOV(no offense SANS).
Thanks alot!
Only thing though that I did like in SansFov is that I was able to change FOV continuously by keeping the assigned button pressed, as opposed to having to press the button repeatedly. (When I want to zoom alot it requires lots of presses :( )
Is there any way to change that?

vracan,

I designed an autohotkey that pushes the button several times for me.  So, when I push the 'wide view' assigned button on the joystick - with the autohotkey pre activated - I automatically jump to my favorite 'wide' FOV.  (105 degrees for me)

San's still works just fine. The problem is that when they made the executable selector for UP3 they decided to name the process il2fb.exe so you wind up with 2 processes named il2fb.exe and San's doesn't know which one to hook into. I don't know why they did that but I would love to see a hotfix to change that. At least they could have given you an option to kill the launcher after IL-2 starts instead of having to do it manually every time.

To get San's working again just start the game through the launcher and once IL-2 is up and running alt-tab and go to the program manager, find the il-2 process with the description  IL-2 executable selector by SAS / Ultrapack and kill it. Then go back and play IL-2 and when you start off in the cockpit reactivate San's with the button you assigned to start it and there you go, perfect every time.

The thing about San's, that everyone seems to neglect, is that it re-renders the game in 16:10 aspect ratio instead of just stretching the 4:3. To my knowledge if you use the others with a wide screen monitor, you really are not getting true wide screen. In actuality I think you actually lose some visibility at the top and bottom of the screen instead of gaining visibility on the sides.

Hey UP crew, PLEASE make a hotfix and give the option to kill the launcher after IL-2 starts. You gave us the option to kill the launcher after IL-2 quits, but to me this is utterly useless.

+1 what rfxcasey said.

I've been using Sans fine by doing this, its just a pita having to tab out and kill the other executable everytime.
