Set up CPU core for server
« on: August 16, 2011, 12:47:59 AM »
Hi

I wanted to ask something about CPU core configuration for DF server, so if i have 4 core, all will be automatically used by server ? or i have to configure this somewhere in server config ,like in game  ? I mean Process AffinityMask........

Affinity mask settings

=1 - core 0
=2 - core 1
=3 - core 0+1
=4 - core 2
=5 - core 0+2
=6 - core 1+2
=7 - core 0+1+2
=8 - core 3
=9 - core 0 + 3
=10 - core 1 + 3
=11 - core 0 + 2 + 3
=12 - core 2 + 3
=13 - core 0 + 2 + 3
=14 - core 1 + 2 + 3
=15 - core 0 + 1 + 2 + 3

so this means ProcessAffinityMask=15 seems the best for you...

Yep, i know that, but this is for a game. Server has no such option in config.ini that is problem :) I do not know how to force server to use all core

add the line in the text
and remove the semi colon from the front of the line, its there to cause that line to normally be ignored by the game

Does not work, looks like the server is running on only two cores only, engine limitations ?
