Author Topic: Game won't start. Please help. (Read 2128 times)

Hi. I downloaded the Ultrapack a few days ago and I installed it.
But the game won't start. I get the box open (Start IL2 Now! Change settings. Exit) and set the game to Ultrapack 3 and start the game, the box goes away but the game doesn't start! However the game's logo shows up on the bottom but no window opens. Please help as I want to fly the ME 323 ASAP.

I'm using IL2 FB Version 1.22. Also I never had il2_coreP4.dll

I copied the game before I updated the game and the origonal works perfectly (enough)

UP 3.0 needs IL-2 Sturmoviks 1946,not any other eralier version of the game
Then it needs to be patched numerous times

First patch IL-2 1946(4.07) with patch 4.08,then patch 4.09
then patch 4.10 and then again with patch 4.101m

Then ,and only then you are ready to install UP 3.0

Thanks. I thought it was supposed to work with forgotten battles. Am getting 1946 soon anyway. (I hope) thanks for the help

You will like IL-2 1946
it has all three version of IL-2 all in and on one DVD
and the price is pretty good these days for buying it being a 10 year old game

Thanks for the help. I'm not getting the 3 game disk one just 1946 I think.
Is their any way to get extra planes in FB?
BTW does 1946 require shaders as my laptop is old and only has 1.1 I think

Yes,the all in one version IL-2 Sturmoviks 1946 DVD is the one to get
It has all three discs on one DVD

There is no way to MOD older single versions of this game,
you must at least have all three versions,patch to at least 4.09
Or... the all in one DVD 1946 Patched to minimum 4.09 for UP 2.01
and of coarse IL-2 1946 patched to 4.101m for UP 3.0 RC4

The shader thing I don't know,
but this game does need a fairly decent rig to run it
especially if you want to run any kind of decent graphical settings

I've got the game. Do I need to download 4.09 defualtskins pack? Thanks. Oh IL2 1946 doesn't need shaders

Anyway, with UP3 installed you don't need it since the IL-2 Executable Selector which ships with UP3 includes all required executables to run the game without CD.

Hi I have a new error.

It goes something like:
Error:Mesh/3do/Russia/Paratroopers not created.

It happens only on certain maps and/or when I put AI enemies on.
Any help welcome. Thanks.

Hi. Merry Christmas.

I finally got my new computer. Unfortunately it has an AMD graphics card

which is causing a lot of glitches on certain maps.

I will try the settings from the previous post and see if that fixes it. Thanks for the great link. I will be getting a Nvidia card sometime but until then I'll see how max AMD settings go

. I also got a new flight stick which works great.

The game runs great on the computer.

However water disappears (Rivers)

, and looks like sand (Oceans) in places.

What setting(s) do I change? Water or effects? What do I change them to? I tried the Max settings but then these water glitches happened.

Any help would be welcome.

. I tried water 0 , 1 and 2 but they didn't work.

Will try messing with effects and water together see if that works....

All ideas welcome.
