Modded dgen campaign for UP 1.8 on the way - massed screenies
« on: November 12, 2009, 03:58:22 PM »
Hi,

i´m just working to expand my channel front campaign 1941-44 with german, british and US campaigns, with all the new planes from UI 1.8 - and a nice additional skin pack with many skins done be myself

Atm working is still hard cause of the well known financial crysis and free time is sparse, but it will not take too long - let´s say "two weeks" ...  8)

The new features will be - as said - the new planes, all the new Fw 190A´s and Bf109´s for this time frame and all the new Spitfires, Typhoon (late) and the P38´s.

The ground environement on the airfields is different for the time from 1941-42 and 1943-44, for both axis and allies and always better tweaked missions.

After releasing tihs campaign, some other will follow, like the italian falcons, Reichsverteidigung and the Zerstoerer campaign, ... but one thing after the other

Some screenies will follow ...

It's a pity that Lowengrin is not going to update DCG with modded maps, planes, etc.

DCG has been updated to several modded campaigns with new maps, planes and loadouts, only by advanced users.

Regards.

I know about DCG but I have to admit, I don't understand anything about it (I did read the instructions thoroughly) and it resluted in a reinstall of my IL.
I would like to see a modded Dgen campaign for the Pacific though.

Everything on its time and when somebody wants to make it of course.

Dgen campaigns for pacific are more difficult, cause dgen.exe is more tricky here, juri_js is working on it. I didn´t try it - my ETO campaigns are huge work to update and/or enlarge with the new planes, it consumes all the free time.

After downloading where do you install your canpaigns & then how do you access one to begin to fly it?Never quite understood DGEN Campaigns , but this one looks as if it will be worthwhile trying...

Please tell us more about "inserting new planes" to DGen Campaigns.
I've inserted some "new planes" to EuroPlanes.dat and to >>campaign_namePlanes.dat<< in proper convention (from air.ini file), but DGen "do not accept it" and generates DgenError.log/simply freezes. The same is when I'm "inserting" new planes to planesXXX.dat.

You can download the former version of the channel front campaign "modded" vers. 1.0, look at my sig. After the new one is out you will install it over the old one and that´s it.

All my dgen campaigns are packed with an auto installer, only to choose the Il-2 Sturmovik folder and start installation. A dgen.exe vers. 4.0.8.6 is even with auto installer part of the file pack (you need it), do it the same way, also the concerning skin packs - easy doing. In the readme you will find more of it.

After that choose a Luftwaffe, RAF or USAAF campaign called "channel front" and the fun will begin ...
