after i installed wine, il2, etc, i concluded that wine is to unstable and fragile for the people that will work to the server and i decided to use virtualbox with 2003 server
i did make the server with up201 and everything looked grate, except i cant play on it, because i need to make port forward from the public ip to the virtualbox ip
i did forward at the beginning only 21000 and after that i red about il ports and forwarded all from beneath

IL2-Sturmovik Ubi.com 80,6667,21000,40000-42000

still no connection could be made
i tested the forward using a simple welcome site and it worked
the game is using the default port 21000
i don't know what to do next and i need some fresh ideas, can you help me with this one, pls?

What do you mean by this ? Wine has proved to be more than stable platform for IL-2 server, choosing  Virtualbox you will now have additional overhead running IL-2 serer inside virtual machine.

i only make the server for some friends who want to make from il2 something different (i promise i will tell you all about when it is done), after that, they will work on it
i found wine and vnc not so compatible, even i crushed it a few times (for example, last time i updated ufw on linux and the freaking ubuntu stooped working without a monitor, with vesa drivers to be exact, even if this problem is not related to much with wine, it took me some time to figure it out that on ufw update, some libs overwrite themselves)
the bottom line is that i don't think my friends will manage to work on il2 server using wine

I have installed Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx 64-bit, wine 1.3 IL-2 DS with UP3 and FBDj, but fbdj not running correctly. Please help me. I tryed to run from console file fbdj.exe and java -jar fbdj.jar but it writes same error again and again. My folder structure is /home/orelwar/il2servers/server1/drive_d/fbdjup3/
